The Family Tree Update: March 29th 2009

Hello everyone,

It's been a while since I wrote. I want to give a big welcome family member Clare Jensen as our newest member to our Family Genealogy project! I'm excited to see our family grow with Clare's help.

And in breaking baby news... my sister Claire and husband Andy had their little baby boy Evan last week on Tuesday! And yes, we have pictures!

How To Begin Tracing Your Family Tree

As you might already know, I need help adding new information. Here's a pretty good article on tracing back your side of the family tree. I thought there were some interesting points. First check out the site:

Here are the interesting points:

1) Ask your family members if there is a genealogy book or other records within the family. This could give you a wonderful head start!
2) Don't put it off until it's too late!
3)Make sure that you keep in mind possible alternate spellings of your surname as you are researching. (For example, Mallamace can also be spelled Mallamaci or Humburg can also be spelled Hamburg)

This is the second attempt at developing a genealogy site related to the Mallamace Family. There were some database issues with the site that threw off relationships and images related to individuals. I had to do a complete overhaul of the old site.
